Abstract
This study assesses the impact of digital education on the professional competence and adaptability of human resources in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Vietnam. Using a mixed-methods approach, combining literature review, secondary data analysis (2020–2025), and a survey of 213 subjects (students, trainees, and workers), the results show that digital education is highly effective in accessing abundant learning materials (Mean Score = 4.52) and developing digital technology application skills in the workplace (Mean Score = 3.71).
Learners demonstrate proactive adaptation to new technologies (Mean Score = 3.93). However, major limitations include: insufficient in-depth professional knowledge enhancement (Mean Score = 2.10), low quality of online learning platforms (Mean Score = 2.38), and especially inadequate preparation for labor market changes (Mean Score = 2.04). During the period 2020–2025, internet usage increased from 70.3% to 84.15%, creating a foundation but still leaving a digital divide and pedagogical shortcomings.
The study recommends redesigning the curriculum to integrate professional and digital skills, upgrading the platform, increasing training-business collaboration, building a national digital competency framework, and narrowing the digital divide.
